A Study on Diet and nursing care f or Atherosclerosis patients

Abstract
The quantity and the sort of fat we take through eating have an effect on the thickness of serum lipid and cholesterol, one of serum lipids, is sure to have something to do with atherosclerosis.
I summarize as follows the result of a brief studying review on nursing care of the patients of atherosclerosis which can be caused through eating.
1) The chief cause of atherosclerosis has not been known yet, but the comparatively serious fat metabolic disturbance of blood is though to be its important factor. Therefore the diet and drug therapy is effective for its cure.
2) As it is accompanied by obesity, diabetes and hypertension, the rising blood cholesterol by overeating can be disturbed by controlling meal to the degree of 1500-2000cal a day.
3) Taking polyunsaturated fatty acids is preferable to taking animal fat with saturated fatty acids.
4) The other components of food, such as protein, carbohydrate, mineral and vitamin, do not have to be limited especially, but they have an influence on serum cholesterol level. So good proteins with little fat, been curd, fishes, vegetables, and fruits can be taken unlimitedly, as they have little cholesterol.
5) For its prevention, we had better avoid lasting overwork and take mental and physical
comfort with age. Sufficient rest and lasting diet therapy are worth recommending.
6) We must inspire the patients with courage and hope through individual contact for their
nursing care, as we cannot cure atherosclerosis completely, if once taken by it.
